Coventry Elephant Building

This iconic building of Coventry Sport and Leisure Centre is better known as the Elephant Building thanks to its uncanny resemblance to the world’s largest mammal. It’s linked with Coventry Central Baths via glazed link bridge (which looks like a trunk). While the Central Baths were Grade II listed and so protected, the Elephant Building (also known as dry sports centre) is in unfortunately in a danger of demolition.

Great as a gift for Brutalist lovers and Midland locals. It’s available in three background colour options – orange, yellow and grey.

I illustrated the buildings using original architecture elevations, photographs and 3D models. Cross referencing of various sources allows me to achieve a high level of detail and real, undeformed dimensions of the façade.
